Torres Leads the Charge in FP1

The Spaniard sets the pace in first session of the day

Althea BMW Racing Teams Jordi Torres shook up the order in the last minutes of the first practice session at the Lausitzring, giving a glimpse of what could come ahead of this weekends WorldSBK return to Germany. Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team's Alex Lowes came in P2 after leading for much of the session, while MV Agusta Reparto Corse rider Leon Camier came home in P3.

Honda WorldSBK Teams Michael Van der Mark came in P4 ahead of teammate Nicky Hayden in P5 while Kawasaki Racing Teams Tom Sykes finished the session in P6.

Home hero Althea BMW Racing Team’s Markus Reiterberger proved his recovery by coming home in P7 ahead of Aruba.it Racing - Ducati’s Chaz Davies in P8. Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team) proved a solid return from injury after finishing the session in P9 ahead of reigning Champion Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) who closed out the top 10.

Luca Scassa of VFT Racing suffered a lowside crash early in the session but was able to rejoin shortly after. Rea, Sykes and Pedercini Racing’s Saeed Al Suluaiti all overshot turn six and ran off track, with all riders rejoining the session. Pawel Szkopek (Team Toth) and Alex De Angelis (IodaRacing Team) both suffered crashes in the last minutes of the session but were both able to rejoin before the end of the session.
